Thanksgiving Around My Life From Home

The big day is getting closer and our menu is coming together.  My husband, Greg, is determined to try out a deep-fried turkey so we bought an indoor deep-frying machine and tried it out on a whole chicken this weekend.  I have to say that I wasn't convinced that a deep-frying machine was something necessary to making the perfect turkey dinner, but OH MY!  Have you tried meat in a deep fryer?  Ok, maybe I should have known better.  How is anything fried not good.  It was amazing!  I am now totally on board with this deep-fried turkey thing!

For decorations, I did a BE Thankful mantle.  I made this banner last year.  This post will show you the complete project.

In our foyer is my Thankful tree. This is another DIY project that I made last year and really like.  Using wood slices painted with chalkboard paint, as a family, we wrote all the things we are thankful for and hung them on the branches I gathered.  It's a visual reminder every time I pass that we have so much to be thankful for and a good exercise for  my children as well.
