Vintage Camera Collection Gallery Wall

Happy Easter everyone!  I hope you enjoyed time with your family yesterday!  It was low-key here; church and a special meal with the kids.  I did put together a little Easter egg hunt in the yard for the kids.  On Friday, I shared my spring home tour with you.  I hope you had a chance to see all of the beautiful homes that were showcased throughout the week!  It was neat to see all the different styles represented each day.  One of the rooms, I did not give you a peek at was my office.  So, today, I'm sharing how I put together a new gallery wall in there featuring maps and my vintage camera collection.

You may remember that I love vintage cameras and received one from my secret blogger Santa in December.  That camera was one too many to fit on the shelf I had them displaying on, so with that addition, it inspired me to switch up the whole display and create a new look.  Isn't that how it always happens?  One piece leads to a whole new project?

Here is a before of the wall shelf that was housing my cameras in the family room.

I got rid of that shelf altogether and bought two shelves at Hobby Lobby.  I liked the look of these with the nailhead trim.

Using these as a jumping off point, I surrounded them with framed maps of places that are important to us including; Cincinnati, AZ, NYC, and Bald Head Island. This is also the space we use for homeschooling, so it worked well with our large school U.S. map that we use for our Geography class.

I did not worry too much about whether the frames matched.  I kind of like the eclectic look.  The chair is the perfect reading chair because it's oversized with an ottoman.  It's not my favorite style wise, but it suits our needs for the room at this time.

My Ohio string art was a recent addition to the wall.  I did this simple project at a girls night in Gild Collective craft party.  Read more about that fun night, here.

This basket was an easy DIY makeover using sisal rope and a hot glue gun.  I used a thrift store basket and upcycled it to give it a whole new look.  For the full tutorial and details, click here.  I use it to stash books beside the reading chair.

Now my collection is spread out a little bit.  I may even need to get some more while out antiquing! 🙂

Do you collect anything?  If you do, how do you display your treasures?

To life feeling like home!
