Twice Resale Update, Key Ring App & Thoughts on my Spring Wardrobe

Today I'm going to touch on a number of items so this is a longer post for me! Stick with me because there's definitely some good stuff!

First of all, thank you so much for your overwhelming support and encouragement for Olivia yesterday! She loved reading all your comments. Emma and I were actually downtown yesterday for a play and we were able to hand out another bag!

If you liked yesterdays post, but didn't see this video I posted on Facebook yesterday, you really need to watch it. I'll warn you though to have your tissues handy!

Last week I told you that I sent some of my used clothing off to Twice online. I was given an offer via email and wanted to give you an update. Out of the 13 items I sent, they only took 4, but with that said, I was offered $25. I have taken more than 13 items to resale shops and gotten less than $25, so I have mixed feelings. They did give me a breakdown on each item and gave reasons why. Reasons were stains? Huh. I did wash each item before sending and definitely did not see any stains.  Another was pilling of fabric. Ok, I'll give you that for one of the sweaters. And a couple of things were marked too old. Though I was slightly disappointed with the results, it was a very convenient way to sell and I liked getting the money deposited immediately versus having to wait around to see if it sells. I will definitely continue my search for the “perfect” resale experience and let you know what I find!

Next up, I was super excited to receive a comment about the purse organization post from Monday.  One of our readers recommended a phone app called Key Ring. Key Ring was new to me, but I couldn't wait to give it a try. I downloaded it right away when I heard what it does. You are able to get rid of all that plastic in your wallet by downloading and storing your reward cards and gift card numbers all in one place. Easy access from the app whenever you need it! Love it! Thanks for the tip, Lynne! You lightened my purse even more!

Lastly, one of my goals this month was to begin planning my Spring/ Summer Simplified Wardrobe. I first started this project this week by pulling out all of the potential clothes out of my closet. When I did my fall/ winter one, I basically didn't touch this half of my closet, so there was definitely some weeding that needed to happen. I'm definitely going to need that resale experience again!

This is not an easy process, but worth it in the end. I did manage to get everything into 3 piles: yes, no (resale), & maybe.

Maybe

I had a maybe pile with my Fall/ Winter wardrobe.  I liked having that pile because I didn't want to regret giving something away when I wasn't quite sure.  Also, I knew then at the end of the season, if I didn't reach for it at all, it was ok to pass it along.

My biggest question I'm facing right now with the planning of this wardrobe is how to include shorts.  Shorts are every day in the summer, but not so much spring.  I am thinking on making a small capsule wardrobe just for summer within my spring/ summer wardrobe.  This would accommodate my shorts and summer dresses.

Thoughts?

Oh, and the next step after forming piles is to make a list of what I need and to begin shopping for those specific items.  I went to the mall yesterday and took a picture of an item that most certainly won't be in my wardrobe, lol.

I just had to show you! Say what?

Have a great weekend!

To life feeling like home!
