Harvest Home Tour, Fall Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be teaming up with some other great bloggers for a Harvest Tour of Homes, Fall Blog Hop!  I'm going to show you some of the work I've been doing around my house to prepare for fall and you can also check out their beautiful houses, fall decor, crafts, and recipes as well.

Welcome to those who are new to My Life From Home.  Thanks for stopping by!

Fall is in full throttle here, but in decorations only as the weather has decided to heat up here in the Midwest.  It's actually warmer now than it was in July!  Despite the heat, my head and heart are thinking about the crisp days ahead.

Fall is my favorite season probably because of the diversity in the landscape.  That makes for an easy transition into your decor.  Today I am going to show you a few of the decorating projects I've done so far to prepare for the new season.

I always try a classic fall look on the porch.  I love these giant ceramic pumpkins that I got at our local grocery store.  I have 3 of them.  My largest one is out in a bed in the lawn.  Mums are a no brainer and I personalized a fall wreath with a painted monogram.

Moving inside, my console chest gets fall branches with acorns and wooden chalkboard disks written with things we are thankful for this season.

Other added touches are throughout the home.  My kitchen scale even gets a pumpkin!IMG_0419 IMG_0418

My favorite decorating space is my mantel.  This year, I kept the mirrors from my spring mantel and added a DIY fall banner.

The fall banner was a quick DIY project anyone could do.  The burlap can be purchased in pennant size or you can cut your own.  A simple hole punch, string, ribbon and a die cut leaf will make an easy do it yourself project.

Before you go, some quick images to get you excited about the start of another season.
