Bringing Back the Flares

I have surprised even myself with the look I am going to show you today!  I hope you haven't given away those flare legged jeans yet?  Do you have a pair in the back of your closet still?  If so, you are going to want to dig them out!  That's right.  Flare leg jeans are in and now that I put them on, I may never take them off!

The key to this look is to pair your flares with simple pieces so that they are the star of the show.  I love the plaid scarf which leans towards preppy.  The combination works well and isn't the overall 70's look that would be too over the top unless you are hitting a costume party!

Another tip…. make sure they are long, long, long.  You definitely do not want high waters! That is not the look you want.  The best length is one which is skimming the ground.  These jeans are perfect with a heeled boot.

Also to make sure you have achieved the right fit, they should be snug to the knee and then gently taper out to the bottom.

OUTFIT DETAILS

Sweater: Gap, Jeans: American Eagle, Hat: Forever 21, Necklace: Chiara Pendant Stella & Dot, Scarf: Stitch Fix

Let's talk about this hat.  Wide Brimmed and felt.  I've always thought hats were cool for other people, but not so much for myself.  This hat makes me change my opinion.  I love this hat!  It is super comfy, stylish and will complement any outfit.  Definitely a good purchase for the season.

What do you think about this outfit?  Would you wear these pieces yourself?

Though they began as something out of my comfort zone, I ended up loving the look!  I think you may really want to try it for yourself!

No Kidding.

Sometimes you surprise even yourself! 🙂

XO,

  1. […] Another surprise came in the form of these flare leg jeans.  They are high-waisted and so comfortable that I have been reaching for them more than some of my other favorite pairs. You may even remember them from this outfit. […]
