I always struggle with what to put on my mantle. I have a traditional fireplace, but it’s on a two-story wall so I need larger scale items to fill the space. I have a mirror off an old dresser that I use for three of the seasons. For Christmas, it gets dressed up with a red berry wreath. Besides the… View Post
This is the cutest craft I’ve made yet this season! Super easy as well. I have seen these on Pinterest and Emma and I decided to give them a try. These are waterless snow globes made out of Mason jars and mini figurines and trees. She is 11 and really enjoyed this project. The only caution I offer is in… View Post
Do you ever have a memory suddenly flood over you? Does it suddenly make you feel like you are right back there in the moment? Well, that tends to happen to me this time of year. My grandma was a huge fan of Christmas. As a child, it was something I looked forward to every year. Going to her house… View Post
In addition to Christmas, my daughter has a birthday on Dec. 27. A double whammy when it comes to prepping for the month’s activities! For her school treat this Friday, she picked out snowman cookie pops. We had seen these on Pinterest and thought they would be fun to try. Since they are on sticks, also easy to eat… View Post
This time of year makes me think of hot coffee and cocoa. I love to just curl up in my reading chair next to the fire-place with a good book and a cup of joe! I was inspired to make a little change to my current coffee station to freshen it up for the holidays.
We have a favorite meatloaf recipe in our house. It is super easy and has been in our meal rotation for awhile now. Ours uses a combination of bbq sauce and the traditional ketchup that you often see in meatloaf recipes.
I’m a few days late on posting about my November Stitch Fix. My box arrived all pretty and waiting for me when I got home from the holiday weekend. I had specifically instructed my stylist that I was looking for accessories this month. In keeping with my simplified wardrobe, I did not need or want to be tempted to purchase… View Post
This outfit was an easy one to put together. I have shown you the plaid scarf before on this outfit:
I’m always looking for something different to give as gifts for my kids and nieces. It’s not as if they really “need” anything so I like to get experience type gifts or things they can do! I was recently introduced to Green Kid Crafts. “Green Kid Crafts is a green company that provides creative and educational activities to do with… View Post
Here is an update from my holiday weekend. We spent several days visiting family in Cleveland. We did a little bowling, a little dancing (polka that is) and ate a lot of food! I enjoy family traditions and I mentioned how we always go bowling. It was another successful outing as I remained the reigning bowling queen; beating my family… View Post
Happy Thanksgiving! Dont get me wrong, I love the turkey dinner with all the fixings, but my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal is the pumpkin pie! There is always the debate between Cool Whip or Reddi Wip. I happen to be a Cool Whip fan. What about you? Besides the pie, we have a family tradition of bowling on… View Post
