In going through my wardrobe and paring down, I was looking for an organizational system which would help me remember my outfit combinations and just generally help with my closet. I was recommended the Stylebook App for iPhone. Have you tried it yet?
The Stylebook App was $3.99 to download and the hope is it will help me organize my closet and help me plan and record outfits.
Here is what the website states about the app:
“A little organization can go a long way when it comes to getting dressed. Mixing and matching what you own, comparing new purchases to what you have in your closet, planning the outfits you’ll wear on vacation, and saving all your favorite style inspirations in one place will all help you develop your personal style. This was the basic idea behind the original version of Stylebook, which has now evolved to include over 90 features.”
I will say it was extremely time-consuming to get it up and running. You basically have to take a photo of every single thing you own and add it into the app. I thought I would start with my spring/ summer simplified wardrobe since I was in the midst of editing anyway. If I truly use it, I will go back and add my Fall/ Winter wardrobe.
It is super easy to use once you get the hang of it.
First take a photo of any item in your wardrobe.
Then you add it into the app under a specific category like; tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes and accessories. Each category then has sub categories such as; sleeveless blouses, sweaters etc.
After adding an item to your “closet,” you can make an outfit by creating a “look.”
After choosing an item and clicking on it, you will then be directed to add a second item to your “look.” After adding all the items you wish and creating your outfit, It will save it. You can name each outfit and then place it in a Day, Work, Evening etc. look.
Here’s what it looks like when you put it together.
Other features of the app are a calendar to plan outfits you wear, shopping, inspiration, packing lists, and style stats. They even have style experts on hand to answer your questions.
I’m finding this app to be a wealth of information. It is going to take me some time to get it up and running and also explore all the features. With all the hard work done now, I am looking forward to the fun!
