I am back today with progress on my Curb Appeal Challenge! This is week #2 of the 5-week challenge to give my house some much-needed curb appeal. As a group, we decided to add a week to the challenge because we had so many things on our to-do list that it was going to be hard to squeeze it all in with just 4 weeks! So now you get to see us for an extra week!
If you need to catch up:
This week's main objective was to make a new wreath for my front door and to add a window box to the front of the house.
I decided to go with something different on the door. I usually do flowers, but I love the look of succulents, so that won over when I was at the store picking items out.
Here is the simple succulent wreath that I put together.
Supplies:
1 Grapevine wreath: I chose a basket style
Variety of succulent stems
Moss and wood chips
Floral Wire
Glue Gun
I started by lining the top of the wreath with moss and wood chips and using my glue gun to glue it down.
Next, I used floral wire to tie in the succulents to the grapevine.
I love how it looks like everything is growing out of the basket.
It's hard to photograph without getting yourself in the pictures, lol.
My next project this week was a window box. We have a bay window which I thought a box would look great underneath. I tried to coordinate the door color with the box. I added a variety of flowers; several which will cascade over the front as they grow in. My color scheme was orange, white, and yellow to coordinate with a hanging basket I purchased as well.
Next week, I am going to tackle the porch!
My curb appeal project list:
1.Outdoor lighting
2.Front Porch Refresh
Stay tuned for the next 3 Tuesdays for curb appeal updates, a fun giveaway, and to follow along with all the other participating blogs. You can find them all at #curbappealbloghop
