On Tuesday, you saw my fall home tour. I hope you enjoyed getting a look at some of the fall touches I add to my home during the season. In addition to fall, I really love Halloween. It's such a fun holiday to decorate for. Both kids and adults enjoy a good spook now and then! Every year, I host a Halloween night dinner and this year, I was looking for some Halloween decorations to create a unique and fun Halloween tablescape for the event. I look for things that are spooky, not gross. I don't want to see bloody eyeballs at my dinner table when I'm trying to eat. What about you? Whatever your preference in Halloween decor, At Home has a huge selection. I was blown away when visiting to see all the many choices in-store. I gravitated towards the black and white theme since it would look great in my neutral dining room, but they have many colorful options as well.
I started my tablescape by creating a fun vignette in the center of the table using white spider webbing. I then layered on a white ceramic pumpkin, one on the table and one elevated on a black candlestick, a huge fuzzy spider and a white pumpkin crawling with spiders to complete the look.
Halloween Tablescape with At Home
For table settings, I used my collection of white plates and layered them with mix and match Halloween plates from At Home. They have several designs with matching cups to choose from. I liked the idea of mixing it up, so I bought several sets of each skull, spider, and bat. Black napkins and placemats complete the setting.
My chandelier could not be left out of the fun, so I hung several spiders from the light so it looks like they are crawling down to the table top!
For texture, I added my black lanterns and a black velour throw over the back of a dining chair. With the lights dimmed, the glowing pumpkins and lanterns add a spooky feeling to the overall room.
What are your reasons for decorating for Halloween? Our reasons are simply about the fun of the season!

Super cool and spooky – my kids would love it!! I really love those skull and bat plates and mugs; I think they make the table!
Thank you, Jenny! It was a fun little event.
Love the simple colors! The spiders climbing up the pumpkin, PERFECTION!
Thank you, Sara!! It was such a fun tablescape.
I love the skull and bat plates! And the white and black theme is perfect for Halloween. Pinned.
LOVE the skulls… but I don’t think I could ever eat comfortably with those spiders! I would probably freak if I had a plate full of food and uncovered the spider design one as I was eating – great theme though 🙂
I love the color combination and contrast of the black and white! Also, so many great spooky elements. Love it!
Thanks, Emily!!
