Collage Wall in Laundry Room

I hate doing laundry.  It's probably my least favorite household chore but is unavoidable.  We recently moved our laundry room from a combined laundry/ mud room to its own designated space in our newly remodeled basement.  Now with its own dedicated space, it feels a lot more usable. By far, the best design decision we ever made!  I no longer am hunting through piles of dirty clothes for missing shoes and backpacks. The best part of space is the sliding barn door which we had installed to close this room off from our main living space.

With the addition of the barn door, I feel like it has its own cool little hiding spot.  Here is a picture with it closed. You don't even know it's there!

I'm lucky to have a folding table in there which I can fold down flat against the wall or leave up to fold loads of laundry.  I even added a small stool.  The best part is with the door open I have a direct view of the tv.

The wall above the table was crying out for some love.  Since this is a space used mostly by me (unfortunately!)  I decided to make it personal to me; putting up pictures of family and friends and personal quotes I love.  My inspiration for a washi tape wall came from Genevieve Gorder's office wall in this episode of Genevieve's Renovations.

I started with a sign I found at Target and also these cute little hanger clips for pictures. I framed a couple of favorite sayings and using the washi tape, taped up some of my favorite pictures.

I ♥ how it turned out.  It makes me smile every time I enter what used to be the “most dreaded” room in the house!
