Today we met for coffee and talked blog.  She has a lot of great ideas to share with you all, so it's going to be fun!

Today let's talk about fall traditions!  I've told you that fall is my favorite season before.  I think one of the reasons is that with the new season comes fun and different activities and traditions.

For our family, one of our favorite things to do is go apple picking.  A local farm orchard, A & M, still allows U-pick.  We headed out there this week and came home with nearly 9 pounds of apples for $8!

So much fun!  But what's even more fun is coming up with things to make with all those apples.  One of my all time favorite fall recipes is Apple Dumplings and the Pioneer Woman does it up right.  Have you ever tried her recipe?

If you haven't then you are really going to love this.  I will say I was a bit thrown off the first time I made it because she has a secret ingredient….. wait for it….. Mountain DEW.  Yes, that sugary sweetness!  No wonder it is soooo good.  I didn't promise it was healthy, but it sure is tasty! 🙂

Here is the complete RECIPE straight from her blog.  Run, don't walk over there and make it today!  I promise you, that it is heavenly!

Oh, and you'll need some vanilla ice cream!

Apple Dumplings

That was her pic of her dumplings.  Here is my wonky dumplings, but no worries.  They weren't blog photo worthy, but they tasted exactly like I remembered from last fall.

We have the usual traditions like a pumpkin patch and a block party Halloween gathering, but besides apple picking some of our other favorite traditions are gathering ourselves around the fire pit and snuggling up with blankets.

Cheers to Fall!

What are your traditions?

To life feeling like home!
