I have never been good at braiding hair. Despite the fact that I have 2 daughters, I never really learned this art (and yes, it is SO an art!) Any time I try it, I bumble around like I have broken fingers. With back to school time in high gear, my daughters have been asking for me to learn how to do a fish tail braid. I'm lucky to have a sister-in-law that is very good at braiding who showed me how to do one. It really helped me to conquer my fear of braiding. Since I was amazed at how easy it actually was once I learned, I thought I'd show you today. Believe me, if I can do this, then you definitely can too!You can do this with damp or dry hair. Begin by brushing hair and putting it into a ponytail.
Next split your ponytail into 2 sections.
Take one small piece from one side and crossing it over into the section on the other side.
Secure that into the larger section. Next take one small section from the other side and fold it in to the opposite side.
Continue to weave the small sections back and forth. The key is to maintain 2 sections at all times, holding one and then the other. Taking only one small piece out of each section at a time.
Continue working your way down.
Omg! I was shocked at how quick I caught on. Eek!! I may even try this on my hair.
My girls are really excited to try out their new hair do's for school.
I'd love to hear any tricks or tips you have for braiding.
It’s so pretty, and it sounds so easy! I can’t wait for Audrey’s hair to get longer so I can try this out! Thanks for this great post and also for stopping by our “Everything But the Kitchen Sink” linkup!
