I can't wait to share all about our new shutters in our kitchen and believe me, these aren't the same shutters you remember from when you were a child! These beautiful window treatments are fashionable and add the perfect finishing touch to our kitchen. They look great in any decor from traditional to modern and were exactly what I was looking for to complement my cottage style design plan. For this project, we worked with Sunburst Shutters which has been around for forty years specializing in shutters, blinds, shades, and other window treatments.
We have one window over our kitchen sink and then a bay with three windows that I am using as an indoor plant garden. To begin the process, they sent out a consultant to talk through our design plan and introduce me to the various types of interior shutters available. They were fabulous and explained everything we needed to know. It really helped to see the options in person and how they functioned in my space. Once I was given that opportunity, it was an easy decision to go with the wide slat plantation style.
After the initial consultation and measurement, my second appointment was scheduled for installation. Since these are custom, they are built to fit your window perfectly. On installation day, it took only In a matter of hours and I had my beautiful new kitchen shutters. They did a great job of walking me through how they function and tips on cleaning them properly.
I love how they not only control the light but temperature and shade as well. You can freely open and shut them with a magnetic closure.
Aren't they fantastic?
There is something about shutters that make a room feel nostalgic, warm, and comfortable. If you are on the fence about them, I definitely encourage you to check out Sunburst Shutters. They added the perfect finishing touch to our home!
To life feeling like home!
XO,
Wow, I didn’t know that it only takes a matter of hours to install custom shutters in my home, so I might hire a service to build me those. I’ve always wanted shutters that will fit my oddly-shaped windows so that I can get some privacy. I think these will go great at the kitchen.
Wow look fantastic, White shutters are great in the kitchen. Thank you so much for sharing dear.
[…] One of my favorite spots in our kitchen is my indoor plant garden in the bay window. I’ve used this spot for a small greenhouse, several plant stands, and a hanging plant. It adds a lot of life to our space and is perfect for growing indoor herbs as well. Our custom shutters from Sunburst are amazing and add just the right amount of light and privacy. … […]
Wow they look so elegant and vintage at the same time. I have shutters on all the windows in my house. When picking a color I was thinking between brown and white. Seeing your images I can say I made a huge mistake. White looks AMAZING.
