I've been loving the look of wallpaper and have been looking for a space in our home to use it. The thing is, I have no idea how to put up “real” wallpaper. Not only do I not want the headache, but I'm always afraid of changing my mind and it seems so permanent. So when I came across this Ariel Gray Peel and Stick Wallpaper on Amazon (LINK), I decided to give it a whirl! Have you ever used removable wallpaper? It really was quite easy to use.
I chose the Ariel Gray (LINK) because I felt like it was a nice compliment to our cottage home and the damask pattern gave it a vintage vibe. My paint by number art collection still shines even against the patterned wall.

The largest challenge was matching up the pattern. This particular design needed to be matched from one strip to the next. If you chose one which does not, it will save a lot of time and waste! Another recommendation is to have a buddy. I was doing this project on my own when everyone was at school/ work and it was a bit hard to hold the paper and unpeel the backing at the same time. Lastly, I would recommend a smoothing tool and a razor knife for this project. This wallpaper smoothing kit (LINK), will make this DIY a whole lot easier.
Amazon has a large selection of removable wallpaper that you may like. Here are some of my other favorite designs!
After applying it, smooth it down with your smoothing tool to get out all the bubbles. Match up your next strip and start again! It really is simple and if you make a mistake, it does peel off and you can reposition it.
Bathrooms, closets, behind bookshelves, above a chair rail or board and batten are all great places to consider using wallpaper. Any other ideas?
