Oh the Places You Will Go! Travel Gallery Wall

Hi friends!  I'm stopping by today with a quick look at our gallery wall.

Since we just got home from a vacation, it got me thinking on how others log their travel memories?  For our family, we enjoy traveling and take lots of pictures of our adventures.  To continue those memories at home, several years ago, we decided to make a travel gallery wall.  Our choice was to keep the pictures uniform with black frames, white mats and utilizing only black and white photography.  A variety of sizes and frame types give it a more unique feel.  I also like the random added to look, so I did not measure and make it too “perfect.” On each mat, I write the place, state and year.

I have also seen galleries where people have colored photos or black and white, but with different frames.  Both look unique and stunning with a large grouping.

Here is our gallery wall.  We utilized the staircase going up to our second floor.  It is also the foyer area, so it hits you in the face as soon as you walk in.

It makes a large impact as you enter our home.  I love the all black frames with the black floors and wrought iron stair spindles.  It ties everything together.  For this space, I think it would be too busy if the pictures were in color, so black and whites work better.

It's like a walk down memory lane each time I go up the stairs (usually carrying loads of laundry!).  I sometimes find myself lingering and remembering something special from a particular trip.  As our wall continues to grow, I realize once again how truly blessed we are as a family!

Here are some other examples of gallery walls that I like.

Now I just have to find the perfect pic from our last family adventure.

Share with us some of the ways your family preserves their memories.  I'd love to hear!

To life feeling like home!

XO,

Amy

    Happy New Year!
This wall is beautiful, and B&W pictures are just perfect choice to keep it calm and classy. Great idea to display your travel memories. I have also seen people decorate staircases in similar manner to tell their family stories; starting with love story and wedding photos and then continuing with photos of children.

This is such a great idea to share and keep memories! Tbh everything at home is all left on the phone or computer all digital! I think having the photos in frames is a great and frequent reminder 🙂

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! I have so many pictures from my travel, but don’t know what to do with them. I also collected canvas acrylic paintings, from all the international locations I visited. I am having a hard time figuring out how to display them in my house and making a travel gallery wall seems like the perfect option!
