Today I have teamed up with some creative blogging friends to bring you a homemade holiday gift, perfect for a teacher, friend, or loved one. I don't know about you, but my skin really suffers from the changing of the weather. As it gets colder out, I notice my skin feels dry and rough. I'm always looking for a body scrub that I can use to heal and soothe my sore skin.
I think all women enjoy pampering themselves and there is no better gift than a homemade body scrub to make them feel special this season.
This project is so simple, I may just start whipping up huge batches for all my friends and family!
Here's how I made it.
{This post contains affiliate links, see full disclosure here.}
Ingredients: (I doubled this recipe for one 16 oz jar of scrub.)
Food Coloring (optional)
Instructions:
1.Mix together 1/2 cup of Epsom Salt and 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
2. Add food coloring (optional) and Essential Oil.
3. Create a gift tag or sticker for the Mason Jar and tie on a ribbon.
I can't imagine a nicer gift for a teacher. I used to be a teacher and believe me, by the time you get to Christmas, you are in need of a relaxing spa day! The kids are excited and ready to take a break and the teachers are in need of time away from the kids also! Couple this with a small gift card for coffee and I would be in heaven.
Let's see what other handmade teacher gifts my friends created! Click below to take you to their projects!

Ok, so how do you keep it from getting hard because of the coconut oil hardening?
M’Leigha, mixed with the salts, it did not harden up! It must be that combo together. Good question!
This looks like a lovely DIY and gift idea. I made some myself last year as gifts. Thanks for sharing at the Inspiration Spotlight party! Pinned & shared.

I haven’t used epsom salts in a body scrub before, but I like it way better than sugar. And peppermint anything is the best!
This looks amazing and I can only imagine that it smells just as amazing!!! This would make the perfect gift – totally pinning this!

I love to make DIY scrubs. I actually really like yours because I made some last year that was basically sugar, salt, and extracts. I had to hide it because my son kept trying to eat it! Your recipe would smell amazing but he wouldn’t eat it, lol. I love the epsom salt addition and now I can make body scrubs again!
Yes! I agree, Rachel. I’ve made the sugar ones as well. I like this one better. The epsom salts also help with sore muscles!
Amy, this looks like such a delightful gift that any teacher would love to receive! I bet it smells just like Christmas in a jar.
