12 Days of Style With Christopher & Banks

This post is in partnership with Christopher and Banks and Good Housekeeping.  As always, thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.  Thank you for supporting those who make My Life From Home possible!  See full disclosure, here.

Today, I have partnered once again with Christopher and Banks to bring you another look at their amazing holiday collection.  If you missed my previous holiday look, you can see all the outfit details here.  Make sure to read all the way through for details on the current giveaway from C&B.

One of the trends that I’ve been dying to wear ever since I spotted it this fall on the runway is the menswear look of a vest and tie.  The trend is not to wear men’s clothing, but to get the look with a few key pieces in your wardrobe.  I have been on the hunt, but I have never found a combination that I liked until now. This blouse from Christopher and Banks is just the right mix of feminine and masculine. I love that you can tie the blouse or leave it undone for a more casual look.  You also can’t beat the price!  For a holiday look, I paired it with a long necklace, black straight leg trousers, and a patent wedge heel.  This black and cream outfit is totally holiday party appropriate, but you could throw in a red lip, sequined clutch, or red heels to really glam it up!

Tips on getting the menswear look for yourself:

•Look for items with a feminine cut

•Mix trendy pieces sparingly

•Play with textures and fabrics

•Add menswear as an accent

Good styling tips! I never think about mixing textures (on purpose) or adding accessories – they definitely add some femininity to the more masculine style.

If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.

Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.
