Hi! friends. I'm excited to be back with another Silhouette project this month. If you missed last month's project, I made a pant hanger into a recipe card holder and used vinyl lettering for the words, What's Cooking? It was a super simple project and you can catch all the details on that one, here.
This month, I decided to do an Easter project. With my kids, one of our favorite traditions is a neighborhood egg hunt. Well, this year, we are unfortunately going to be at a soccer tournament the weekend of the annual hunt, so I decided that I'll do our own hunt in our backyard on Easter day. My older daughters kind of poo-pooed the idea of an Easter pail, but my youngest will still get into the idea of a pail and a hunt, so that was my inspiration behind my project.
To begin, I used my Silhouette to cut out the circles, bunny, and word, “Easter” out of vinyl. I chose fun bright colors that matched our plastic eggs.
I purchased a clear plastic paint can from Amazon. You could use a recycled can just as easily, but I liked that you could see through to the colored eggs, so I went with clear. Peel and stick the vinyl to create your design. I decided to put the bunny on one side with the word Easter on the other. The dots were distributed randomly around the can. That's it!! Super simple, but so cute!
To make your egg hunt, even more, fun, here's a printable where you can number the color of eggs you hide and your children will mark them off as they find them. Hopefully, this will help in avoiding the dreaded running over of stray left-behind plastic eggs with the mower this summer!!
