You guys! I'm so excited to share with you an update on our Master Bedroom and Bath Renovation! We are at about the halfway mark and things are starting to take shape. If you need to catch up on what's been happening around here with this project, here is the BEFORE, followed by the pretty INSPIRATION BOARD.
Let's talk about what we've done so far. In order to increase the size of the bathroom, we brought one wall out two feet into the bedroom and squared off the door frame. If you remember, the bathroom was open to the rest of the room, so we closed the whole thing in around the top. In the new space, we gutted everything and started rebuilding walls. In our design plan, we worked around the picture window and one other window. Instead of keeping the tub, we opted to remove it and increase the size of the shower to make it a spa shower. Across from the shower, we will now have a small cubby for the toilet. Under the picture window, will be a nice size sit down makeup vanity.
Here is a look into the new bathroom from the bedroom.
Here is the same view from the bedroom now.
Now, here it is from the inside.
This corner will have built-in shelves with the double sink vanity beside it. I will have access to those shelves from my makeup table which will be right under that large window.
The shower area has been framed in and he has started the tiling of the floor. I used the small mosaic black and white tile from the inspiration board for the floor. On the walls will be white subway tile with darker grout.
I am in love with the wood tile on the floor! It is a warm brown wide planked tile. It has a nice rustic look.
Now let's go back to that wall with the sinks. I told you in the last update that I was using that pretty cement tile but not on the floor. Well, I used it on this wall to create a focal point! What do you think? I am totally in love with it. All heart eyes here!
I can just picture my rustic double sink vanity with copper fixtures and I just can't stop staring at it!
What's left?
A whole lot: tile the shower, grout everything, shiplap the walls, install all the fixtures, paint, finish the shelving unit and finally, move in! I can see the light at the end of the road and I am getting excited. I'll be sure to continue updating you on our progress on Facebook and Instagram, so I hope you'll follow along!
Have a great weekend!
Nice Post for bathroom fittings. Try it, I hope it is the best tile.
