Farmhouse Bathroom Inspiration

When I am looking for inspiration whether it's for a project, a recipe, or a home remodel, I always stop at Pinterest first.  So as usual, before beginning the bathroom remodel, I took to Pinterest and gathered my ideas.  I knew that I wanted something that had a modern farmhouse vibe.  I love black and white and I wanted it to have wood accents.  Most importantly, I wanted it to flow seamlessly with the rest of our home and be a comfortable and warm space.

Playing Catch-up?  Here is where we are at so far with this project.

We are getting there, but the going is slow.  I am definitely antsy because sleeping in the basement is getting old.  While I am patiently waiting, I am dreaming about what will be with the help of some amazing inspiration on Pinterest. Here are some of the pins I used to help me plan out our farmhouse bathroom remodel.

VANITIES: Farmhouse vanities can be anything from an old dresser upcycled into a sink vanity to a painted and distressed piece.  Rustic wood with open shelving for towels and baskets or concealed storage with doors.  Another option is a large wall mounted farmhouse sink.

SHOWERS & TUBS:  Subway tile is king with the farmhouse look.  With tubs, a freestanding soaking tub with wall or floor mounted faucets are the way to go.

Tile: Patterned tile is making an appearance in the bathroom not only on the floor but also on the walls.  You can see below where my inspiration wall idea came from. 🙂

ACCESSORIES: Rustic hooks, ladders, baskets, crates, and greenery all add interest, texture, and warmth to a bathroom.

Shiplap and beadboard walls help add another textural element to your space. And don't overlook your lighting.  Barn lights or rustic lanterns and even chandeliers are popular choices in the bathroom.  Wall Color?  White tends to be the choice for farmhouse style.  White will never go out of style and allows you to accent with other colors even with a brightly colored vanity if you choose.

Need even more inspiration?  I have put together an entire board on Pinterest called Bathroom Redos.

XO,

  1. […] Ok, guys, I’ll be honest, I’m starting to think we’ll never get there!  We are rounding 3rd base, but my head is saying, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”  If you’ve been following along, you know that we are tackling a huge remodel of our master suite.  Not only was the bathroom brought down to the studs, but it was expanded into the bedroom and we are doing some fun things in there also.  First things first, here is the BEFORE, the INSPIRATION BOARD, HALFWAY THERE, and my INSPIRING SPACES. […]

  2. Thanks so much for including my bathroom in the mix Amy! Can’t wait to see how your bathroom turns out!
