Hi, friends! I thought I'd pop in today with a surprise! While I'm gone on vacation, I thought it would be fun to give you some eye candy to look at until we catch up next week!
You know when I did that Farmhouse Master Bathroom? Well, I ALSO did the master bedroom. I know, I've been keeping it a secret! I really didn't want to show it until I felt like it was perfectly done. I am happy to say that it as near to perfect (to us!) as any space in our home! Our bathroom reno completely changed the whole bedroom space, with moving a wall, so it was definitely time to deal with some of the things we no longer liked about the space. And, let's be honest, there were many issues in our bedroom including; poor lighting, big bulky furniture, a statement wall that no longer worked, and definite storage issues. I couldn't be happier with how we managed to turn this lemon into lemonade! If you liked my bathroom, then you will definitely like this space! It is calm, serene, and everything I think a modern farmhouse bedroom should be!
We started by moving the wall between the bedroom and bathroom out 2 feet and straightening it. This was so we could make a larger bathroom. Despite giving the bedroom a smaller footprint, we've found it to feel even larger because of the furniture we chose and the white walls and ceiling which lighten up the space.
We got rid of every piece of furniture and instead this time around opted for a lower profile bed, two small nightstands, and a fireplace.
For the storage we needed, we used IKEA wardrobes on either side of the window and had a window seat installed to give it a built in appearance. The wardrobes allowed my husband to accommodate all his clothing which means I was left with the whole walk in closet to myself!! I'll show you what I did to jazz up that space in the future! Under the built in bench, we are storing my husbands suitcases since he needs them accessible for weekly travel. I made a simple white curtain to disguise that area.
It really is everything we've ever wanted! I love a lot of stuff, but in this space, I've kept the decor to a minimum in order to give it that peaceful feeling I want from my bedroom. Sometimes less is more!

The faux wood beam was added as an afterthought. My contractor built it and I love the rustic wood paired with this gorgeous chandelier!
All the textures, ruffles, and pretty grays blend beautifully into this modern farmhouse space.
Between my bathroom and bedroom, it's the calming retreat we've been wanting! I've so enjoyed reading a book, having the electric fireplace turned on and generally just relaxing in this little oasis.

Gorgeous, Amy!
Such a refreshing and airy space!
That chandelier is perfect. I tend to shy away from “glam” lighting, but that one works great!
And the fireplace makes this a great retreat.
Good work!
