Today's project is a super fun recipe that your kids will love to help you make and share!
Easter Peeps Popsicles!
I first saw this recipe on Yellow Bliss Road and they were so cute that I needed to make them myself! I'm personally not a huge fan of Peeps candy, but I do associate them with Easter and I always buy at least one pack for the Easter baskets. I do, however; love rice krispie treats so this combination seemed perfect for the holiday.
To start, you want to buy a 12 pack of each color that you want in your layers. I chose purple, yellow, blue, and pink.
You melt 1 pack of peeps with 1 tablespoon of butter in the microwave for 45 seconds. Stir. Then do the same for each of the colors so that you have a bowl for each one.
Now, mix in your Rice Krispies until completely coated. 1 and 1/2 cups in each color.
Line a muffin pan with foil and begin spreading your layers. Pressing down each one as you go.
Let cool completely and then turn out onto wax paper.
See those beautiful colors!
Slice each one and cut in half to make a small square for each popsicle. I trimmed them down so the edges were straight. These trimmings sure were good! 🙂
Insert your sticks, package in clear baggies, and tie on a ribbon and tag.
I plan on giving these to my children's teachers and friends. A nice little treat for the holiday!
