Hi all! Today I'm giving you a glimpse of the items I found while antiquing a few weeks ago! You may remember that I went to the Ohio Valley Antique Mall and spent an entire afternoon browsing. I have always wanted to check that place out and it did not disappoint! You can read more about that adventure HERE.
Well today, you get to see the good stuff that I brought home with me and believe me, it was so hard to choose! I may have gone a little (ok, a lot!) crazy, but oh well, that's the best part! I'll even give you a sneak peek at how I'm working at DIY'ing one of those items.
First up are these vintage juice glasses. I ♥ them! I collect just a random assortment of little glasses, not expensive, but perfect size for my kids.
I actually think I recognize some of these from my grandmother's house when I was young. Isn't the rooster so cute?
I also collect Ironstone from England which is just beautiful. I love the all white pieces and use them daily. Here I found two handled bowls and a platter.
Another awesome find was this smiley face mug. I had a yellow one when I was a kid, but have never seen it in all white before. It goes perfect with my collection. As I told you in my Kitchen Refresh post, I like to use these vintage silver cups to store little items.
You can see how I used this cup on my 3 tier rack to hold straws, HERE.
Next up was these two antique bird prints and frames. In addition to my travel gallery wall, I have gradually been starting another wall gallery where I think these will fit perfectly!I have been enthralled with old fans since an episode of Fixer Upper where I saw how Joanna used one in her finished decor. Here is the super cool fan that I found. It has been taking up residence in my office for the time being.
Ok and my last find was a chandelier that I decided to update with a little paint and use on my patio.
A little paint and this chandelier looks way better.
If it will ever stop raining here in Cincinnati, then I may get it hung!
I will definitely bring you back to see it when it is all ready to go!
Anything you couldn't live without?
Love your finds Amy – especially that chandelier!!!
I just started doing a little antiquing/up-cycling too! It’s addicting! There are some fun places in Sioux Falls…maybe we can find some time and check them out when you come out! I have been decorating with vintage botanical prints and came across this website that has a TON of vintage prints, including birds/nests/eggs etc. You can print them off for free and just stick them in a frame. Mine turned out great. Here is the website. http://thegraphicsfairy.com
Jennie! We can’t wait to visit you guys! Yes, I would love to check out some of those places. Very cool site.
It looks like you were able to find some great things.
I love all your finds. I especially like the bowls. My grandmother had a set similar to that.
These are great finds! I love what you did to the chandelier.
I love antiquing and love to see what other people find! That fan is amazing… great find! Looks like you had a lot of fun!
That fan is amazing. The quality of items was so much heavier back in the day, wasn’t it? 🙂
Love the vintage juice glasses. They bring back a flood of memories!
I know. It’s crazy isn’t. Things you wouldn’t think you remember, you do!
I actually have a whole set of the little orange glasses, and I have the matching pitcher too!
That’s so cool. I’d love for you to share them!
