Ask Amy! Back to School

Hello!  A LONG time ago, I started a series or maybe I just thought I was going to start a series called, Ask Amy!  I've decided to try it out again.  This will be my space to just tell you what's up and answer some readers questions.  Ok?  Sounds kind of fun and frightening at the same time.  As much as I enjoy blogging, it's not always easy to talk about yourself.  I would love it if you would ask me some questions in the comments so I have some material for the next post.  Ask away!  Don't be afraid.

This was the first Ask Amy! series post.  You can catch up on it, here.  It's a list of 25 things you may not know about me, so if you are new around here, it's the perfect post to give you some interesting facts about me!

Ask Amy! series of posts to elaborate on the good ideas, projects, and products that I'm enjoying right now.

Ok, let's get started!

At Home in-store Event

As most of you know (because I've shouted it from the rooftops), I was asked to be a part of the At Home Inspiration Team.  A big honor for me as I love their fun products and the store's mission of affordable, quality, home decor.  I was asked this week to join an in-store event at the Columbus At Home store.

The event was all about Back to School basics.  We were given a first look at the back to school collections they are featuring and a full store tour with some great store information.

I did a whole Facebook Live video tour of the store.  I'd love you to watch it if you haven't yet.

I love how the store puts together items by color.  Their collections and vignettes make it easy for those who either don't know the best way to put items together or are looking for a specific color scheme.

I swoon every time I see these aisles of pillows.

I can't believe we are talking about back to school already!  Some of your kids may have already started and mine start next week (insert crying emoji).  My youngest, Grant, is off to KN.  I just can't even believe it.  He still seems so little!  Every night now, he has asked me before bed if we can talk about school.  He had an open house last week and got to meet his teacher and see his classroom, so I think he's getting excited.

Have you done that back to school shopping yet?

I rounded up some of my favorite products for the new year.  If you're like me, you spend a ton of time running around and getting everything ready.  My kids really get into finding the coolest supplies, so hopefully with this shopping guide, I took some of that pressure from you!

We use these Lunchskins and the freezable lunch bag every day and they have worked great!  I'm going to be getting a second set this year for my little.

 Summer reading.

What have you been reading lately?  I have enjoyed the book Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld.  It is a retelling of the story Pride and Prejudice in modern America.  The fun part for me is that it takes place in Cincinnati, OH!  All the favorite haunts and sights around Cincinnati are mentioned.  I would definitely put it on your reading list especially if you are local.

Think Pink!

I've been checking up on the fall trends and this year it seems that pink is making a statement for fall.  It's a pretty rosy shade of pink which is a great pairing with navy, gray, black and brown.  I'm thinking a fun way to add pink for the fall is through accessories such as this Michael Kors bag.  I love the quilted fabric and it's a crossbody which is perfect for day or night.

I’ve had Eligible on my reading list since it came out! I looove Pride & Prejudice, and obviously also love that it’s set in Cincy 🙂 Can’t wait to read that one!
I love that rosy pink handbag! I added some dusty/rosey shades to my fall/winter wardrobe the last few years and I’m glad they’re still in style. It’s a nice break from all of the heavy dark colors.
I would love to know how your home style has evolved or changed. What’s one thing you always thought you’d love or have in your home but don’t like anymore?
