I have been looking forward to this post on our spring mantel. With each passing season, I enjoy changing out my mantel. It gets me in the mood for the new season and becomes a focal point in our home. This season was no exception. I used my Spring Bird's Nest Wreath as inspiration for a “themed” mantel this time around. Here is the tutorial on how I put together this easy spring wreath, here.
Using birds as my inspiration, I gathered two antique prints that I bought last year at an antique store, a bird's nest from Michaels with speckled eggs, and my favorite little birdies which were a long ago purchase at Home Goods. These paired with my layered mirrors, wreath and candlesticks created a very light and mantel scape; perfect for spring.

The EASTER garland was a project I put together last year using my Silhouette machine. I used book pages {one of my favorite decor go-to's!} from a thrift store book to layer with vinyl circles and a bunny cut out. I strung the circles along a piece of twine and attached it to my mantel. You can see last year's spring mantel, here. I love that the garland adds just a touch of Easter and blends well with my current theme and color scheme. When Easter has passed, I can just take it down and I don't have to redo the whole mantel.
What ideas are you using for your spring mantel?
Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.
If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.
