I don't get the opportunity to really dress up very often, but around the Holidays are a few opportunities to indulge in a night out in a dress. Last weekend, we went to a fundraising event at our daughter's school. Great time to wear the Gap dress I purchased this fall. It has a really nice sheen to it and a very big flowy skirt. I have to admit, I felt like a princess and just wanted to twirl around.
I felt like it was crying out for a little detail, so I added a thin black ribbon to the waist to dress it up even more. This mimics the black band at the bottom of the dress. I tied it in the back with a small bow. You could also use a larger ribbon and tie it to the side or front which would be cute.
The best part about the dress is that it has pockets! I love a dress with pockets. When standing and talking a lot as you do at these events, it gives your hands somewhere to rest.
It was a perfect night and I look forward to wearing it again soon for my husband's Christmas party. This time, with a wrap to protect from the cold weather.
To life feeling like home!

♥ Amy
