Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons when it comes to decorating. The colors of the season just lend itself well to the bounty of options for exploring decor and styling options.
TIP: When I process and plan for an upcoming season, I always start with my mantels. I clear away the previous season and I begin playing around with options putting things on and taking things off until I achieve a look that I am happy with.
I have several mantels in this house, but the dining room is the central room of the house, so I decided to start my fall decorating there.
On the mantel, I used a faux garland I bought at a Grandin Road outlet nearby and tucked a couple of faux pumpkins in to it. Behind it, two thrift store gold mirrors and more vintage brass candlesticks round out the display.
For the table, I folded my runner over and laid it in the center of the table. On top of it, I layered vintage brass candlesticks and a brass vase full of eucalyptus branches. My favorite green transferware dishes seem like the perfect entertaining dishes for the season!
You may see that I have a new addition in this space! The glass hutch cabinet was a Facebook find. It was already updated and painted just how I would have done. Isn't that the best when that happens? I replaced my green cabinet (LINK) with this because I wanted more visual display for my china collections. The green cabinet hasn't gone away, just moved.
If you are looking to start a brass candlestick collection, I have two sets of vintage candlesticks available at White Cottage Home Store! (LINK) Snap them up before they're gone. I use them year round in so many displays.
