As the seasons shift, I love bringing a fresh look into our home while staying true to my signature colour palette. For this year’s fall refresh, I kept things simple with shades of blue and green, proving that you do not need to completely overhaul a space to embrace a new season. Sometimes, it is the small, thoughtful changes that make all the difference.
By swapping out pillow covers, adding cozy quilts, and incorporating a few autumnal accents, I created a warm and inviting space that feels perfect for early fall. Let’s take a tour!
The easiest way to transition a space from one season to the next is by updating textiles. For fall, I switched up our pillow covers to bring in deeper tones and textures. Instead of replacing the pillows entirely, using covers allows for an easy and affordable update.
To add even more warmth, I draped two new quilts over the backs of the couches. The extra layers instantly made the room feel cozier, without overpowering the space.
My coffee table got a subtle yet effective seasonal update with a large blue and white bowl filled with faux pumpkins. It is amazing how a single piece can shift the whole feel of a room. The combination of cool blue tones with soft neutrals makes it feel just right for the early fall season.
Rather than completely restyling my mantel, I opted for one small change—swapping in faux wheat stems for a seasonal touch. Everything else stayed the same, but that single update gave the space a warm, autumnal feel without a drastic change.
This fall, I wanted to prove that seasonal decorating does not have to be overwhelming. Small, intentional changes like new textiles, subtle colour shifts, and natural elements can refresh a space without requiring a complete redesign. By staying true to my love for blue and green, I was able to create a fall look that feels authentic to my home.
Now, I would love to hear from you. What are some of your go-to seasonal decor tricks? Do you prefer a bold, traditional fall palette, or do you lean toward a more understated approach? Let me know in the comments!
