This year, in our family room, we incorporated dark rich greens with gold and silver touches.

Over the last several years, I have tried a couple of different styles and colors in our Christmas decor. It's always fun to change it up. This year, though I decided to move back to more traditional colors and incorporated lots of Christmas green! Our 9 foot tree is loaded with glass ornaments, icicles, gold bows and ribbon. I changed out my pillows on the couch and incorporated these dark green velvet covers (LINK) and a mix of gold and white pillows from years past.

The mantel got a new sign from Target (LINK). It was just the right color to tie the room together. On either end are some white wood trees that I have had for several years. These and the silver reindeer have been used in my Christmas decor in several different locations throughout the years. For the first time, I got a fresh garland and I will say the smell is just amazing!

Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.
If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.
