I love shopping, but I really also like buying less and using what I have in multiple ways. There is nothing like a stylish summer dress, but realistically, how many times do I dress up during the summer? Maybe 2-3 times. I have made it a goal to only add items to my closet which can be worn either in multiple ways or more than one season.
An easy way to transition a summer dress into a staple for fall is by adding a denim jacket. If you do not own a denim jacket, run out and buy one! I love mine and use it year round to mix up my wardrobe and create “new” outfits.
This dress was sent to me from Stitch Fix. I love the way it gathers in the front. It is form-fitting, comfortable, and a great color. I have worn it many times this summer and will continue wearing it this fall with my denim jacket. Paired with sandals, heels, or booties, it will work for another season.

Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.
If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.
I wear my denim jacket non stop! It’s the perfect transitional layering piece!
