Wow! Today's the day for the Bedroom Reveal! It's been a quick six weeks! When I said I was going to join the One room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling it Home, I thought six weeks sounded like plenty of time, but let me tell you, six weeks is not plenty of time for an entire room redo! Needless to say, the room happened and all in six weeks, so today is the day I get to share it with you all! I couldn't be more excited (or proud) of how it turned out! If this is your first time here, Welcome and thanks for stopping by! I decided to tackle my teen daughter's bedroom and redo it into a space she will love to hang out in and have friends over. The idea I was working with was a brightly colored, modern bedroom with gold accents.
Playing catch-up? Here is what you've missed so far in this challenge.
Before I do the full reveal, let's look back at where we started.

Here is my inspiration board that kickstarted this project.
Are you ready to see the full space?
Here we go!

This wall art from Minted created a beautiful wall gallery above her reading nook.
To jazz up a bookcase, I lined the background with gold polka dot fabric. I like the pop it gives to an otherwise bland shelf.
For the desk space/ closet, I dressed it with ruffled curtains on a sleek gold rod from Umbra. Gold tie backs complete the look and she can open or close them as she wants too. I used a Removable Wall Paper to cover the back wall of the space. This gives it a pop of color and accents this space in the room. We added an interior light and some fun bling in the form of a metal chandelier. This will be the perfect space to do hair and makeup in the morning. On either side of the closet are shelves and a rod.
I added a simple shelf above the desk and painted it in the same blue and the brackets from IKEA in gold. A few trinkets and succulents are displayed.
I wanted her sleeping area to feel more like a lounge, so I configured the beds in a Ll shape with an ottoman and rug from At Home anchoring the area. This way, she can have a friend stay the night or if several friends come to hang out, they can relax, listen to music, and all have a comfortable place to sit. We replaced her bunk beds with two twin beds and bought new White Ruffle Edge Bedding for both beds.
The dresser was the find of the century. For just $60, I transformed it into a gorgeous piece with paint from Devine and sleek gold hardware. It is large enough to hold all of her clothing and creates a great horizontal display space on top. I added some clear glass jars with gold stoppers from Altar'd State , a modern orb from At Home and a spray of fern leaves in a gold vase.
My daughter is on an equestrian team and we have never been able to find a good way to display her competition ribbons. I decided to make a valence out of them so she can add and change them. I am proud of her accomplishments and it is the perfect way to showcase her hard work. Using just a long piece of elastic, I tacked it to each end of the blinds and they easily clipped right on.
Thank you so much for sticking with me through this season's challenge. It has been a blast! I am thrilled with the outcome and believe I have a gorgeous space that Emma will enjoy for years to come. I was able to incorporate all of her wishes and what she loves into a fabulous space. For me, I am relieved to be done and need a break! 🙂
A BIG Thank you to my sponsors for this challenge!
Is it sad that I want your teen’s bedroom for myself? I love all the color and your choice of accessories are gorgeous! Great job on a beautiful makeover! Your daughter is a lucky girl!
Amy, what a lovely space for your daughter! Love the light fixture so much and the dark ceiling! The closet makeover is such a neat space too and those curtains are so so pretty!
Your daughter must be over the moon! I love the blues and grays with the colorful bench! The accessories are totally modern and the hidden vanity is every gorls dream! Very nice!

Everything is just absolutley beautiful. The blue ceiling was a feat in its self. Thats no easy project! But you have turned it into a work of art. A beautiful room for a beautiful daughter.

Oh my I would have loved this bedroom as a teenager! And I love a lot of it for my adult bedroom now, including the faux taxidermy (great minds think alike!!)
