READ with ME! December: Shopaholic to the Stars by Sophie Kinsella

I've had some time to read during our time away and I was eagerly waiting to curl up with this book, Shopaholic to the Stars. My READ with ME! December book was highly anticipated by those who have enjoyed Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series.  I would say for me, this series was the one that really fueled my love of reading as an adult.  I always had a book when I was a kid, but as an adult, I really hadn't found my niche.  After discovering the genre of women's fiction called “chick lit,” I was hooked.

Here is the book jacket and even that excites me.  So fun and colorful, just like the character's Sophie has created throughout the series.  Shopaholic to the Stars

This is the 7th book in the series.  Here is a synopsis of the story.

“Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) has stars in her eyes. She and her daughter, Minnie, have joined husband Luke in LA—city of herbal smoothies, multimillion-dollar yoga retreats, and the lure of celebrity. Luke is there to help manage the career of famous actress Sage Seymour—and Becky is convinced she is destined to be Sage’s personal stylist, and go from there to every A-list celebrity in Hollywood! But things become complicated when Becky joins the team of Sage’s archrival. How will charming and supportive Luke deal with this conflict? Is it possible that what Becky wants most will end up hurting those she loves most?”

This one did not disappoint if you are a fan of this series.  Becky was up to her old antics and as usual, finds herself in an “I Love Lucy” kind of situation.  It was not my favorite by far, but still a very enjoyable and fun read.  The ending left you clearly anticipating another book, so I'm guessing this means that we will be seeing more of the Shopaholic series in the near future.

What book or series kicked off your love of reading?

To life feeling like home!

XO,

Amy
