I'm particularly excited about today's post because it combines my love of fashion, with my love of my city, Cincinnati. Thank you, Dagny, who blogs at Dagny Zenovia for putting together a unique feature and blog hop.
The midwest can often get a bad rap for being behind the times when it comes to style and fashion. Yes, we tend to be more conservative in our dress than on the coasts, but believe it or not, trendy styles can be seen around the town.
I think Cincinnati is a perfect place to live and raise a family. We have everything that a big city has; parks, plays, professional sports, beautiful vistas, and restaurants. We have really excelled at putting together an urban oasis in Over The Rhine which is a perfect night spot for restaurants and bars.
My favorite thing is that Cincinnati has friendly, down to earth people. I have made so many wonderful friends here.
I think this warm, friendly, carefree type of living is mirrored in the city's fashion style. Most people here are looking for stylish basic wardrobe pieces and mix in trends sparingly. Our city has an abundance of family- friendly activities and events which influence what we like to wear.
I am a stay at home mom/ blogger/ homeschooling teacher, so there is a lot of juggling, car pooling, and time spent at home in front of the computer. With that said, I think my personal style can be summed up in 2 words; Everyday Casual.
My style preference is clothing which makes me feel comfortable, good about myself, and brings out my personality. Trends do come and go, so it is important to me to have basic wardrobe elements and then spend time accessorizing and working in trends from there. You can always find me in a scarf or a statement necklace. Leopard and fringe are also favorites in my closet. These items help bring trendy style to otherwise basic items. All of the above pieces in my closet are good examples of my casual style.
What is Everyday Casual?
Denim- distressed or otherwise
Graphic T-shirts- long and short sleeved
Chunky sweaters and flowy cardigans
Denim shorts
Denim shirt
Fur vest
Black casual blazer
Wedges and booties
Knee Hi Boots
Sandals and flip flops
Here are some of my favorite go-to outfits:

One of my goals this year was to really hone in on my style and stick to it! I always fall back on those same pieces in my wardrobe, so I've decided that when I add something new, I want to make sure it is a good fit with what I already have.

Great post! Love the floppy hat, leopard and fringe details – all things I have in my closet as an OH resident as well 🙂
Thank you Tamara! Such a fun blog hop!
You look beautiful in all your photos<3 My favorite is the gray top and white pants 😀 Comfort is everything especially when you have to do so many things. My dream whenever I finish college is to be a stay at home mom. Maybe not straight after college but in the future 🙂 It was so nice meeting you and being part of this collab with all these amazing women <3
Wish you the best!
Love,
Thays
