Winter Mantel Decor: Neutral, Clean & Calm

Isn't it always kind of a let down after you take your Christmas decorations down? Everything looks bare for the moment and sad after the cheery Christmas colors and scheme. Then I settle into the calm and I enjoy the clean look for the winter months.  I decided to go with what I was feeling and that was a more neutral look which includes winter whites, burlap, rustic wood and mercury glass.

Today I am going to show you my winter mantel. I decided to once again keep the white mismatched mirrors. I love using them as a backdrop. The wall the fireplace is on is a two-story room, so the mirrors help to add height to the room. Layering them also adds texture to the displays. I did, however, remove the black lanterns and added instead a vintage birdcage. I'm sure the lanterns will be back, but for now, I swapped out the candlesticks on my dining room table with the lanterns for a different look for both rooms.

Tobacco baskets (set of 2): Decor Steals

I added a vintage tobacco basket, silver candlesticks, pinecones and a vintage birdcage.  A white wreath with a burlap ribbon adds lots of texture which warms up the very neutral winter decor.

I love how it turned out.

I'm still smitten with the little set of skis I got from the Target Dollar Spot before Christmas.  They easily made the transition from my Christmas decor to winter.  Did you happen to snap up a pair? I wish I would have gone back for more. Still kicking myself about that one. ?

What are your tricks and tips for a winter mantel decor? I'd love to hear!

XO,

  1. The double mirrors are a great idea – it never would’ve occurred to me to layer mirrors. Looks fantastic and I love the white wreath.

  2. Mary H says:

This is so pretty! I love how it is simple, yet it makes a big statement with the 2 mirrors. I could easily replicate a similar look on my mantle.

  3. Your mantel looks wonderful, Amy! Love those skis!
