$100 Room Challenge: New Rug
I found the perfect rug to anchor my $100 room challenge entryway makeover.
I introduced you to the concept of the $100 room challenge last week. You can read all about my project room here, (LINK). I have large goals for my small space foyer and I am hoping to get it all accomplished for just $100. This week, I'm thrilled to share that I found the perfect rug for my entryway! Ahhh! I was really hoping I could find the rug right away so I could plan around it. I started my search at thrift stores, but wasn't having much luck. However, a Facebook Marketplace search provided me with a wealth of options to choose from. The problem was price. On my wish list, was a high quality rug. I have bought and unfortunately had to replace several rugs in my house due to life (3 kids & a dog!). Being the entryway, this space is a high traffic area. I was looking for a darker color with blues to match up with my chinoiserie that I hope to include somewhere in the space.
And guess what? Just like that, I came across a beauty! An hour trip to pick it up on Friday and here it is!
A New Wool Rug for the Entryway
It is wool! And just $60! I couldn't believe my luck. Now I realize that $60 is a big chunk of my budget for this space, but it is going to set the stage for everything else in the room. I am willing to splurge on this one piece and cut corners somewhere else. I love how it fills the space and separates it from the rooms around it. I think it will clean well when needed and the colors are just what I was hoping for in this space.
Let's take a look again at the goals for this space!
GOALS
#1 Add more functional elements; hooks for guests to hang their coats, purses or a chair to take shoes on/ off.
#2 New rug to anchor the space
#3 Artwork and new decor
#4 Wall treatment of some kind to differentiate this space from the surrounding area.

The Sunday Letter
Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out.
