Today I'm sharing a super simple DIY project that anyone can do! Paint and Fabric will work wonders on updating a thrift store stool!
Anytime I'm out thrifting, I always have my eyes open for stools. They are a very versatile piece in decorating your home. Using them as accent pieces, footstools, to elevate a vignette, or to hold a plant like I showed you in this post (LINK).
This particular piece I bought for $2 at St. Vincent De Paul. Obviously the fabric was quite outdated, but the structure of the piece was solid. One tip is to always check the legs to make sure they aren't loose of broken.
DIY Thrift Store Stool Makeover

To start this project, I unscrewed the legs and painted them with two coats of white chalk paint. I like this Linen White by Rust-Oleum (LINK).
Using my Arrow Staple Gun (LINK), I recovered right over the current fabric. You can see exactly how I folded the corners in the video below. One tip is to start in the middle and work your way to the edges. Pull each section taunt as you staple. Make your way around and then trim any excess fabric on the underside. You will have a rough edge, but this won't show when you flip it back over.
