Spring is one of my favourite seasons. It might be the anticipation of long summer days and the pool opening, or maybe it is the beautiful flowering trees in our yard that bloom for a few weeks each year. Either way, I love bringing that same light and airy feeling indoors through my decor.
I recently updated our family room with a few simple seasonal touches that make the space feel fresh, inviting, and ready for spring. I cannot wait to show you how small changes can make a big impact.
One of the easiest ways to update your home for the season is by swapping out textiles and decorative accents. Spring calls for soft colours, lighter fabrics, and fresh elements that reflect the bright and cheerful feeling of the season.
One of my go-to decorating tricks is using pillow covers rather than buying new pillows each season. This makes it easy and affordable to update the colour scheme and overall look of a room.
For spring, I chose pale pink, cream, and a subtle floral print to keep the space soft and inviting. One of my favourite places to find pillow covers is IKEA. They offer a variety of colours, textures, and patterns at budget-friendly prices.
Since this is where we watch TV, I like to keep the coffee table decor minimal and functional. Instead of a lot of decorative items, I used a simple silver tray to hold:
This setup is easy to move aside when we need extra space, making it both practical and stylish.
I also refreshed a few accent pieces in the room, including our dresser and console table. These areas got a subtle spring update with bunnies, including:
These small seasonal touches add just enough of a spring vibe without overwhelming the space.
With just a few updates, the family room now feels refreshed and ready for the season. The combination of soft pastels, natural elements, and simple decor creates a welcoming space we will enjoy throughout spring.
