Green & Gold Christmas in the Dining Room

Our dining room is dressed in Christmas with green, gold, and beautiful candlelight!

I can't believe that it is only two weeks until Christmas!  How is that even possible?  This year, we are hosting my parents for Christmas dinner and I've started thinking through what our meal will be, pulling out recipe cards, and planning our table setting.  I'm remembering this time last year when I had no kitchen, so Christmas dinner looked a whole lot different!  It's a blessing to have a functional kitchen and to be able to cook for my family in town.  Our large dining table seats 10, so I never have to worry about folding tables and extra seating since they'll only be 7 of us.

I decided to go with an elegant theme of green, gold, and pretty candlelight.  My mismatched antique brass candlesticks have been a staple for my tablescapes.  I had several sets available in the White Cottage Home Store, but they have sold.  Check back for more listings as I'm on the hunt for more!  Besides the candlesticks, the hurricane globes are a thrifted item.  These paired nicely for an elegant march down the center of the table.  I layered in faux greenery branches, pinecones, and this set of gorgeous brass bells from Target (LINK).  A set of antique deer also are peeking out from behind some of the branches to add to the snowy Christmas scene.

For the table settings, I used white mismatched dinner plates, gold flatware (LINK) and gold beaded chargers (LINK). My favorite addition to this table setting was the napkins I picked up at HomeGoods.  Tied up with a small green velvet bow and they are the bowtie on the outfit!

I kept our mantel simple with just the gold mirror, more brass candlesticks, a winter garland, and two more gold reindeer.

I think it is going to be a lovely setting for our dinner!  I'm hoping to use the fireplace for the first time on Christmas day.  A meal in front of the fire sounds wonderful!  I hope you have a blessed Christmas season!  I will see you all again in the New Year!
