One of the things we look forward to each summer is firing up the grill! We love the typical hamburger and hotdogs on the grill, but one of our favorite things to make is grilled pizzas!
This is a perfect idea when hosting friends and family because everyone can make their own pizza with the toppings of their choice. It's fun for kids and adults alike. For the holiday weekend, we hosted my husband's family and we had a great time with this party.
We start with a platter of appetizers that people can munch on while they are putting together their pizzas.
Ahead of time, prep your toppings and place them out for your guests to choose from. I put them in individual bowls to make it easy.
Meats to include are pepperoni, sausage, prosciutto, and bacon.
Toppings you might consider are banana peppers, mushrooms, onion, fresh basil, fresh oregano, garlic, artichokes, and cheese.
Each person gets an individual pizza round to build their pizza on. Layer a little olive oil and pizza sauce and then you are ready to begin adding your choice of toppings.
I prep a Caesar salad ahead of time and open a bottle of wine and it's an easy way to entertain for the evening.
It's the perfect outdoor entertaining idea that everyone can get involved in. Since most of the prep is done ahead of time, I love that I'm not strapped to the kitchen and instead can enjoy time spent with guests. When everyone is finished building their pizzas, you can rinse the bowls and your clean up is a breeze!
Yum!
What easy outdoor dinner parties do you enjoy hosting?
Looks delish! We used to make pizzas on the grill all the time. We should try it again!
