Happy 2015

Welcome to 2015!

I cannot believe another year has passed. Time just keeps moving faster and faster.

As we close out 2014, I can't help but reflect on the year behind us. For our family it's been a year full of changes. It's definitely been one of the harder years we've had in a while. Any change good or bad is stressful and for us, this was no exception. Leaving a job, deciding to home school, and starting a new school for my middle daughter among other things, affected the whole of our family. Through this process though, I have learned that God is good and we can trust in His plan. When things felt like they were spiraling out of control, God placed the people in our lives to support and help us through the difficult decisions we had to make. He also proved once again to be good and loving.

Sometimes I find that out of fear we don't move. Being forced to make change can be really scary, so it's easier to just stay put. If we don't move than we aren't open to the good that God has waiting for us. In our case, we would have missed the blessings waiting for us. These include but aren't limited to, the opportunity to be more present with my family and to build into my daughter Emma, a school which is a much better fit for Olivia and our family, deeper truer relationships with friends and the blessing of brand new friendships.

Though I wouldn't willingly repeat 2014, I am thankful for all that I've learned and gained from walking through the experiences we did.

I am looking forward to sharing 2015 with you all and as I've learned, you can never anticipate what the year ahead might hold regardless of how well-organized and planned out you think you are. I'm going to embrace what's ahead and hold on tight! I wish that same thing for you and your families in 2015.
