Before moving on to updating projects we are tackling in our new home, I thought it was worth a quick look back at my favorite home updates from our last home. Emma was 21 months and Olivia 6 months when we moved in. Grant was born there. It will always be a special place for us because of all the wonderful memories we made. I began the blog there and basically taught myself how to decorate and style using our house as the guinea pig. I don't think there was even one corner that escaped my design frenzy! I had a lot of fun making it a place that our family enjoyed.
Let's talk about the style of that home! From when we moved in, to when we moved out, my style radically changed. Finding what I liked, what worked for our family, and looking beyond the trends was a long process. I like to call the style we rested on, Modern Farmhouse. A mix of warm neutrals, black, greenery and lots of texture. Neutral walls with rustic elements, vintage items, and warm cozy elements. It was a comfortable and not too fussy for young children.
We tackled a lot of projects over the 12 years some hits and some misses, but today I'm going to share my top 5 favorites.

To life feeling like home!
XO,
Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.
If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.
