Who has an energetic dog which loves to “greet” ummm “attack” visitors who are coming to the house? Irving is distracted by any and all sounds and movements on our front porch. Peeking his little head up in the window and in the process clawing and making a mess of our white interior paint on the door and sidelights.
Take a look at this mess.

Yikes. I decided to do a quick DIY with paint I already had on hand. Using Sherwin Williams, Repose Gray, the same color as our living room/ office right off the entryway, I spent a morning painting and what a difference it made! This color is a beautiful warm gray which depending on the lighting looks gray or a pale blue. It is darker than the white and hopefully will cover the dog mess a little better.

I'm in love with the new look. It is subtle but adds a little warmth to this small space while mirroring the color in the adjoining room. This isn't the only painted interior door in our home. We also painted the pantry door in the kitchen a pretty green, Coastal Plain by Sherwin Williams.

I hope this gives you the confidence to try something different in your home!

XO,
Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.
If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.
I love the interior doors and trim and molding in white!! I saw a design shoot with deep satin black interior doors and windows and I planned to do it in most of the house but I have changed my mind, I will do it in white. Thank you.
