Purse Organization

My 3rd goal for February was to get my purse(s) organized.   You never know what is going to be found in the bottom of my purse!  It is sometimes like a bottomless pit.  I have wanted to organize my necessary items in such a way that if I want to switch purses, then the transition is quick and easy.

Here are the 4 purses that I rotate between.

My favorite tote, Louis Vuitton Tivoli, Jimmy Choo black hobo bag and a simple black cross over bag.

I have found that these 4 bags serve almost all my needs.  I am on the lookout for a leopard clutch bag for fun evenings out, but beyond that, I am content with my bag situation.

However, here is the problem I have.

When I go to switch purses, this is what I am dealing with; socks, crumbs, wrappers, paper receipts, snacks.  Yikes.  Time to get it under control!

First, I sorted the mess and threw the junk away.  Too many snacks??

Too many lipsticks?

This is what I came up with as necessities after I purged.

I decided to organize everything I needed in this Vera Bradley set I already had.

It would be even better if it matched my pink wallet, but oh well, I already had this cute set waiting to be used.

The largest one is going to hold the following items.

Bandaids, paper and pen, hand sanitizer, ibuprofen, a purse hanger, a measuring tape, feminine products, and a couple of fruit snacks.  One thing I need to get is mints and these will go in this pouch.

The middle size one is for my cosmetics.

This one contains; sunscreen, concealer stick, lip balm, a lip crayon, eye liner, travel mascara, a nail file, hair bands, powder, travel hairspray, nail clippers, pretty silver mirror, a packet of vitamins and blotting tissues.

The smallest one is the perfect size for the store rewards cards, coupons, and gift cards.

Here is what it looks like all put together.

Much easier to grab the pouches and switch out purses.  Since I don't always need all four pouches, I can grab just the ones I need.

I am super happy with how this project turned out.  I now only hope I can keep it organized!

Oh, and the paper receipts, I am vowing to throw them away or file them when I get home!

Do you have a system that works for you?  I'd love to hear your ideas.

What a great tip! I use mini pouches like this in my travel tote; it makes everything so much easier to find!

I stopped carrying a big purse because it was where all my lip products went to hide.

    Love this
My purse is a black hole!
I love large totes just because they can hold so much. That’s a good and bad thing lol

I love this idea… I have done this in the past and “fell off the wagon,” but your post inspired me to get back on track. One thing that I do a little differently is that I keep all my gift cards, store cards and even credit cards and insurance, etc. (basically any thing that would usually go into a wallet) in a business card holder. It’s about the size of a wallet and keeps all my cards organized and easy to find. I can even hold up a card and the clerk can scan the code on the back without even removing it from the slip. I’ve been using this method for about 3 years and its by far my favorite “wallet/system” ever. There is even a handy flap in the front for all my receipts to live until I get them home and toss them or file them.

That’s a fabulous idea! Thanks for sharing. I have to admit, I’ve fallen off the wagon also. It’s easy to do! ?

I use an app called Key Ring – you copy all of your rewards cards and bar codes into the app and when you go to the store, you only have to bring up the app on your phone , find the correct card, the store scans the bar code and you are good to go… Leave all that plastic at home!!!
