We love that our home came with a screened in porch, but it's never quite lived up to its expectations. We have slowly been fixing issues with it or upgrading it when we can. It was kind of a catch all for all the random pieces we no longer wanted. I recently bought a new wicker set and a lounge chair and decided it was time to get rid of all the other pieces we no longer wanted and freshen up the space.
I decided this month to make it a goal of mine to get it decorated and improve upon what we have begun to work on. Hopefully with a final push, it will be a space we enjoy for a long time. My goal was a space which was comfortable and inviting, but also colorful and reflective of our outdoor spaces.
We have some furniture that was in good shape out there and my prior attempts at decorating had resulted in 2 corner curtains and a new fan.
These things helped, but there was still not enough seating for this large space, so I purchased a bistro set to allow a space to eat out there. We like to spend Sunday evenings as family time in our back yard and it will be a bonus place to set up a meal. You can find information about the bistro set

So we would have somewhere to set out serving dishes or just drinks, I painted the last of the random tables I had hanging around this house with white chalk paint and put it together as a bar/ serving table. Adding a galvanized tray from Target and it is ready to go!
Love it!!
We also had a bunch of fake plants (I'm not really sure why?), so those all had to go! Instead, I bought a real fern and 2 hanging planters from Target and filled them with succulents. Much better than the fake plants, ha! You can find the hanging planters from Target HERE.
My favorite activity is to lounge on the chaise and read a magazine and watch my kids on the swing set. Ahh, I'm looking forward to that life this summer!
What are your dreams for summer?
Do you have a space you enjoy hanging out in your backyard?
oh, what a wonderful space. doesn’t it just make your home feel so much bigger? my sunroom is just a small thing, but i think my home would feel so much smaller and constricted without it. it’s my favorite place to be, and my cats, too. enjoy!

Thank you!! I can’t wait to enjoy it. We put an old school slamming screen door on because it reminds me of my grandmas house growing up!
