BEFORE
I bought this chair for $5 at my local Goodwill.
It was in great shape, I just didn't love the fabric! With new fabric, it would be a perfect chair for the corner of my entryway.
Fortunately, this DIY project is a super easy one to do. Let me show you how!

Most chairs this style have a seat which is screwed in. Turn it over and with a screwdriver, unscrew the seat and remove.
Next, there are two options. You can remove the fabric or you can recover right over it. I decided to shorten this process and just recover right over the existing fabric. Pick out your favorite fabric. This one is leftover from another project. Start by cutting your fabric to leave several inches for folding over the seat.
Using a staple gun (LINK), pull it taunt in the middle and staple. Next go to the other side and pull it taunt again and staple. Next work your way around and lastly fold the corners to get a sharp corner. Trim any excess fabric and make sure to leave the screw holes available to screw it back in.
Remember you won't see the underside of the chair so you can leave it like that or to give it a finished look, a piece of folded fabric can be stapled over the bottom to cover the jagged fabric edges.
Let's take a look at it in the entryway!
It's the perfect spot by the door to put on your shoes before heading out the door!
