Kitchen Refresh

I'm excited to show you some of the refreshing that I've done in our kitchen.  We just had it repainted (yeah!) and with new paint comes a fresh new look.  We don't have a large kitchen with the layout or cabinetry that I wish for, but even in small spaces, things can be done to make it aesthetically more pleasing and harder working for you.

Since I have limited drawer and cabinet space, I like to put the items I use frequently on the counter.  Out in the open storage can go two ways; beautiful or cluttered.  My hope is to create non cluttered counters, but still having things handy when needed.

To accomplish this, I have previously purchased some items to help with that.

One is this beautiful mug rack from Magnolia Market.

IMG_0414This is a high functioning area every morning.  K-cups and mugs are on the ready.

Another item I added was a rack for mail.  We bring in the mail and set it on the counter.  Instead of having mail cluttering the counters, I now have a designated holding spot off of the counter to hold it until I can later go through it.

It has been working out well.

So, when I ran across this 3 tier piece at Home Goods, I had to have it!  It was a perfect addition to my counter and an easy way to corral things in a beautiful way.

I'm going to use the bottom to store our fresh fruit at the ready.

The middle and top are going to house my towels, straws, and plants.

I collect these small silver cups from antique stores and use them for plants or to corral little things.  I just love that I can use them and display them in my kitchen.

This smiley face mug was a find at my local antique store as well.  I had a yellow one as a kid and just love that I found it in white to go with my others in my white mug collection.

The 3 tier is hard-working, but beautiful.

I changed out my red berry basket for a white one to corral my kitchen sink supplies.

Lastly, I saw these white rain boot salt and pepper shakers and a white mason jar spoon rest at Home Goods.  Another had to have.

All in all, I am so pleased with the little touches I did to refresh my kitchen.

I am contemplating some larger changes with cabinetry, but for now.  I am content.

To life feeling like home!

XO,

Amy

The Sunday Letter

Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.

If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.
