Today, I'm showing you a small quirky space in our family room. This little area has long been what I've called the dog area with Irving's bed, food, and crate. However, he has settled into our family nicely and no longer is crated when we leave the house. He is a free roamer and uses his bed only occasionally and prefers to sleep on the couch or with one of us. Since this space was no longer needed for his supplies, I decided to make a change to it and instead use it for more storage of my collections.
This nook is an odd little space because it has a never used door leading out to the side of the house. We instead use the kitchen door to go in and out. Eventually it would be nice to wall it in, but for now, I just decided to pretty up the space and use it the best we could.

I started by moving our pink painted thrift store dresser (Link to project) over from the window to fill this space. The bunny knobs I got on Amazon (LINK) and the crystal and antique brass knobs I purchased from Hobby Lobby (LINK). I just couldn’t resist the bunny ones. I love the whimsy they add to the piece! I filled the drawers with Irving's supplies like his leash, dog bags, and toys. Adding above it a simple system of shelves I picked up from Home Depot, I created a fun little space for housing my vintage collections.
As you can see, I have tons of vintage milk glass and brass candlesticks and urns. By displaying them in a large grouping it looks stylish and intentional. You can read more about how I thrift and what I look for in these posts (LINK).
It's definitely a better look than a dog cage and food, lol.
Many of these items are for sale at White Cottage Home (LINK). I am always hunting for vintage items and I love that I now have a place to rotate my collections!
XO,
This is just gorgeous. I can imagine living here and being totally zen 100% of the time. A total getaway from stress! The bottles etc on the nice shelving are great finds!
