Call me crazy, but I love taking Christmas down. It always feels like a brand new start! With this blank slate, I like to re-evaluate my space and make some subtle changes to up the cozy factor for winter.
Today, I’m sharing a tour of my post Christmas family room space. I started this refresh by changing out the pillow covers. Gone are the dark green velvet and instead I grabbed some cozy fur, navy ticking stripes, and gray wool to update for the season. Next, cream fur throws were added to the couch which are perfect for curling up on movie nights. Another change I made was updating the mantel with a couple of vintage pieces of artwork and blue and white chinoiserie vases. I scattered pinecones across for the a seasonal touch.
In the corner where the tree was a new to me (from Facebook Marketplace) Queen Anne wingback chair makes a great spot for a book and a cup of coffee.
Just remember to light a candle on these early dark winter nights! A simple gesture like this will help to warm up any. space in your home!

Most Sundays, once the house has gone quiet and it's edging towards nine, a letter goes out. It's the one I'd write to a friend with good taste and not nearly enough time: one thing worth reading, one thing worth buying, and one thing to skip. No noise, no pressure to spend, just the considered version of what I've actually been using, loving, or quietly sending back.
If you like the sort of recommendation that still holds up six months later, leave your email below and I'll write to you on Sunday.
