Welcome to 2019! I took some time off with my family over the holidays to regroup and spend time together. It was a quick two weeks and now the kids are back to school and I am settling back into my daily routine. I can't believe how this year just flew by! It was a busy one over here with tons of house projects in our new home. We have officially been here one year now and it really feels like home. I'm thrilled with all we have accomplished in such a short time and can't wait to get started knocking off a few more to-dos from the list. If you are interested in seeing where this house started, you can visit this post, First Look, New House.
Before I dive into the Top 10 posts from 2018, I want to give each and every one of you who visit my blog a virtual hug! This last year was probably one of the more stressful years I’ve had in a long time and having you visit the blog, share it with your friends, comment, and encourage me has made me feel encouraged to continue what I'm doing. I’m thankful that with each new year, we are given a fresh start to plan, organize and begin anew.
10. Vintage Inspired Crystal Doorknobs for a Whole New Look
I was inspired by the look of antique crystal knobs to change out our 18 doors in our new home! Yes, 18 doors got a whole new look with beautiful vintage inspired crystal doorknobs from Nostalgic Warehouse.
9. Weathered Wood Look to Refresh a Wood Ceiling
A huge upgrade to our new family room was this weathered gray stain technique used to turn the old orange wood ceiling into this beautiful showstopper!
In June, we went on an amazing adventure to Athens and the Greek Islands. Our family loves to travel and with only a few more years with my oldest at home, we decided to see as much of the world as we can.
7. My New Custom Art Work for the Family Room
I was thrilled to get the opportunity to collaborate with artist, Jennifer Collander for this beautiful custom piece of art designed just for our family room space.
6. Green Painted Hutch for a Whole New Look
One of my single favorite makeovers of all time was this hutch top turned cabinet which I DIY'd and used one of my favorite green paints on.
Another painting project made the top 10 list! This thrift store dresser was given a major makeover with Annie Sloane pink paint.
4. White Cottage Master Bedroom
We are blessed to have this huge master bedroom space, but filling the room with furniture and accessories has been somewhat of a challenge. In this post, I revealed the latest addition, this white armoire.
3. My Life From Home Becomes White Cottage Home & Living
Big changes this year on the blog! My Life From Home became White Cottage Home & Living to coordinate with the opening of my very own home decor store, White Cottage Home.
2. White Cottage Kitchen Renovation Reveal
The biggest reveal and renovation of the year was our kitchen. From the second we moved in, this space was transformed. It was a long and stressful renovation, but it was finally complete in February and I just love how it functions for our family.
1. Brand New Store, White Cottage Home
The biggest accomplishment for the year was the addition of my very own home decor, vintage finds, and gift store added to the blog. White Cottage Home launched in November 2018 and has been tons of fun!
It's always worthwhile to look back before moving forward. It helps me gain perspective on how far we came in the last year. This year, in particular, was a monumental year.
I hope that your plans and dreams for 2019 become a reality!
As always, thank you again for following along!
