Do you like to decorate with new and trendy Christmas decor or are you a more traditional decorator? I know people who spend a lot of time pouring over their yearly Christmas themes. I simply don’t have the time or budget for changing it up each year. Instead, I keep my decor pretty much the same each year, just adding a few new pieces each holiday season. Either way, it’s fun to spend time dreaming of your holiday home and projects.
Since I’m still in moving mode and not yet thinking about holiday decorating or DIY projects, I thought it would be fun to look back on some of my favorite Christmas decor and projects from years past.
I love decorating a small kitchen tree each year with cookie cutters, food ornaments, and kitchen utensils. Also, my 3- tier baskets get a little update for the holiday.
My small front porch gets a little festive each year with prelit trees and a quirky “Wanted” sign. Thrift store scarves are an easy DIY garland for inside or outside.
In 2016, I added some DIY snow globes to create a whimsical collection. These shined bright during my yearly holiday home tour!
4. Pinecone Fire starter Gifts
These darling little Christmas trees are the perfect DIY gift for a friend and still one of my favorite craft projects I’ve ever done!
Another simple handmade gift is this Peppermint Scrub I made for friends last year. Top it with a wooden scoop and label and it will be perfect for a gift exchange.
Do you enjoy embellishing your packages? I created these cute wooden gift tags which will double as ornaments for the tree.
7. Winter White Holiday Wreath
A creamy white cozy DIY yarn wreath is the perfect decoration that will last all the way through winter. No worries about keeping it up after Christmas!
These cookies are a favorite in our house around the holidays. Dip them in your coffee or cup of milk and they melt in your mouth!
Have a little fun prepping some DIY ornaments and decorations with girlfriends by hosting a holiday craft party! All the details on what to include for a fun girls night in!
10. Christmas Card Prayer Ring
One of my favorite traditions is taking our Christmas cards we receive each year and compiling them into a prayer ring. Hole punch each one, thread them on a ring and commit to praying for a family each night at dinner!
I hope you gathered some inspiration for your holiday decor or DIY projects! Want even more? You may enjoy making this Simple Paper Punch Ornament, or these easy Twinkly Jars.
